The couple has been expelled by the Communist Party and stripped of their public positions. Wang Yu was the lowest ranking member of the Chinese Communist Party at the wife swap sex party. As for the other officials, the Lujiang government initially released a statement claiming the photographs were photoshopped, but later clarified that the people involved are not party officials, just a few swingers who happen to bear some resemblance to the public servants. Thus only the lowest ranking suspected member at the orgy has confessed and been punished as a result of this scandal.
